What kind of Internet connection is available at the sites?
We try to provide the fastest Internet connections possible. This is achieved through telephone lines as well as wireless Internet connection.
Is there a time limit on how long I can use the computers?
Most CAP sites have a limit of an hour during busy times. If it is a slow day then the time limit may not be enforced.
Do I have to be a resident of the area to be able to use the computers?
No, any person can use the CAP site computers.
May I call ahead and reserve a computer for use?
Yes, you may.
May I use the computer to chat online with fellow business people while I am on holiday?
Yes, you may if it is for business development. If it is to chat with friends for recreation then we would ask you to be courteous to others who come in and would like to use the computers for non-recreational purposes.
Are there computer supplies, i.e. CD-ROMS, available for purchase at the sites?
No there are no computer supplies available at the CAP sites except for paper and a colour printer.
I own a business, how might I be able to be a CAP site host?
Right now funds are not available to start up a brand new CAP site but you could work within an existing CAP site and network through them.
Are all sites wheel chair accessible?
Unfortunately not, though every effort to accommodate disabled people is taken. There are some sites that do have wheel chair access.
Is there CD Burning capabilities?
Yes, most computers have a writeable disk drive available to use. You must provide your own CD to burn to.
Are CAP sites located across Canada?
Yes. CAP sites are financed by Industry Canada and other partners. There are CAP sites coast to coast.
Are all CAP sits free Internet access?
Yes. You do not have to pay a certain price per minute to use the computers or Internet. There maybe a small fee for use of the printer to help defray the cost of ink cartridges and paper.
